A Wren pays a visit...

The weather hasn't been good or conducive to photography and I've had family commitments this week.

Today.... it rained all day!!

But yesterday, just as I went to the sink to fill the kettle, a little brown bird was ferreting around in the plant pots just outside.

I grabbed the camera - didn't even check the settings and managed this shot (through an extremely dirty kitchen window) before it scurried off.

I've heard the wren again today so fingers crossed they're nesting in this area somewhere.
(Oh.. the blue is a pot - not the sky!)

And now? After all the rain, it's now stopped; the wind has dropped; the sun's come out and there's pink and blue in the sky as twilight descends!

Lovely shot of the Wren Tricia, they are never easy to spot let alone photograph.

Well snapped Tricia. They don't often present such a clear view.

A lovely image of a little bird that is never easy to get a good clear shot of. Well done Tricia.

Lovely ~ and how obliging of the wren to stand beside the beautiful blue plant pot. I bet you were delighted once you downloaded your photos and realized how clear it was. :)

This is great......I have loads of blurry Wrens. Nice to know what they should look like.

Jan - Thank you. I couldn't believe my luck to see it so close.

John - Many thanks. One in a million chances I think!

Roy - thank you - given it was through double glazing I was lucky!

Glo - wasn't it just! I was quite pleased with the picture although it did need a bit of "tidying up"

Adrian - probably one of my better pictures of wrens and probably the only one I have of a complete bird that's not hidden behind branches etc. lol

Great shot of a great visitor Tricia.

When I first moved in this house, a Wren was the first bird I saw in the garden. Never seen one here since. lol
