All good things come to an end.. and far too quickly. It doesn't seem 5 mins ago since I set off with Pete for a week in Wales. And a lovely time it was too.. despite the weather on the last 2 days.
We set off early this morning - starting out through Snowdonia with its wonderful scenery. The day was bright with some reasonably sunny periods. Sadly we left Snowdonia with its great hills and, today, many waterfalls cascading down the hillsides. It is so breathtaking in places. Sheep everywhere as usual... I shall miss all this very much. Somehow the traffic and A roads and motorways on the way back......
A Tawny Owl flew over us at one point and we saw several buzzards on the drive home. On one occasion one dipped down beside the road to collect its meal. Wonderful to see them so close.
We stopped off for a break and some lunch at Baddesley Clinton.. another National Trust Property and this time a moated mansion. We didn't view the house on this occasion, as we had time constraints..
Lunch was Bacon and Brie Sandwiches - not that good - bread was uninteresting and a bit dry and tasted 'processed' but the Ginger Cake was good.
A wander around the small area of gardens before finally heading off for home.
and St Marys Church in the grounds..

It's always sad to leave a holiday you have enjoyed and who couldn't enjoy Wales? Lots of lovely photos, surprised to see Pete posing in so many of them though ;-)
I know Baddesley Clinton quite well, the grounds more than the house. A lovely wander especially on a sunny day....if you can remember those :-( I saw my first ever Nuthatch there!
Bacon and Brie sounds wonderful but not if the bread isn't tasty...wholemeal granary for me :-)
Glad you had a lovely holiday, and s safe journey homr. Loved looking at all your photos and hope you will come back again soon.
Thanks for sharing your holiday Tricia with all the beautiful photos :) It brought back many memories of our holiday in North Wales last autumn and gave me ideas of places to visit if we return :)
Nice to see Baddesley Clinton through someone else's eyes too!
I love the scarecrows especially the one on the bench. I've enjoyed your Wales adventure very much. Great shots as usual.
