After having a brekkie out, we headed off in the general direction of Wimpole Hall. But we had plenty of time to spare, so Pete suggested RSPB Fowlmere enroute. Bullfinches, loads of Long tailed Tits, Blue and Great Tits, Goldfinches, heard Great Spotted and Green Woodies. Siskins and Redpolls feeding in the Alder trees. Was good to get some exercise but Wellie boots were definitely the order of the day.
From there, across country to Wimpole Hall and estate. This was the last weekend that we could see the house decorated for Christmas as it was in Victorian times. Additionally the Farm was open as part of normal entry.....
Given the number of people we elected for an early lunch before setting off around the house and estate. Winter Vegetable soup and home baked bread - very nice.
St. Andrew's church in the Wimpole Estate.. nothing to do with the Wimpole estate.
Wimpole Hall
Carol singing in the chapel
and then around the Farm..
This boar and sow caused many a parent to search for words as the children asked
'Mummy, what are they doing?'
and having espied a great selection of cakes at lunch time... well, we had to have some cake...
nearly all gone! Lemon Drizzle and Victoria Sponge..
one piece of each...and shared with a cuppa!
Time to go....
our vehicle home was a little more comfortable... than on these!

Looks like a great time. Nice to see them dressed as they were then.
I absolutely love the first picture! Looks like you had a great day once again. Great shots! Love the picture of Pete, he's such a cutie.
It looked like a lovely visit, lots of nice photos too. Love the way the house was decorated.
