Wow - summer is finally here. Left at 6.30 a.m. and didn't need jackets- the sun was shining.
We wandered through Hyde Park - to Buckingham Palace (the changing of the guard was taking place later in the morning)
and then on to St. James' Park where a Pelican was the first bird to greet us..
an Eyptian Gosling..
Pete offered 'Trev' the Heron a handshake... and was complete ignored!!
The Rose garden at the edge of Hyde Park (we're on the way back now) was beautiful and the scent amazing!
By now it was extrememly hot and lovely to wander in the cool. Off to Wigmore Hall then for the Elias String Quartet who played:
Medelssohn's String Quartete in E sharp, Op 12 and
Benjamin Britten's String Quartet No. 3 Op. 94 - don't think I'm that keen on Britten but you never really know until you hear it 'live'
However it was another great stroll in the sunshine in London....

Trev the heron, lol. Lovely shots as always. I can't imagine how beautiful the rose garden must have smelled.
