My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

A first visit to NT Greys Court being a trip down memory lane.

Pete suggested a visit to Greys Court in Oxfordshire today - which was a trip down memory lane for me.  My very first house that I bought and the one where my son & daughter lived in for the first year or so of their lives was only a few miles away. So driving along the motorways and through Marlow and Henley-upon-Thames was quite nostalgic.  I even noticed a signpost to the hospital that they were born in... (although it's changed considerably since then).

The weather was gorgeous and we returned to the car at one point to leave our jackets!!

Driving down on the M40 we started seeing Red Kites... and during our visit we saw them all the time.  BUT didn't have the appropriate lens on the camera...

However, our walk around....

This is a donkey wheel and I think, there's only 2 of it's kind left now.  We looked down the well and literally couldn't see the bottom of it.. it went down for miles - or more exactly 200 ft!!

A fantastic day out in beautiful sunshine.. and in a wonderfully relaxing place - and in great company as usual  - thanks Pete for a great idea :)
