My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Remembering - With Poppies - all those who made our lives for us

For me, the day I publicly remember those who gave their lives, in all the wars fought, will normally be 11 of November.  However, given that so many will be marking the anniversaries of world wars 1 and 2 today, I couldn't let this date pass.

There are numerous poems and sayings I could post here but,    I'm not going to quote the words of others.

All I wish to say is simply
THANK YOU
to all those who have made sacrifices of life and lifestyle over the years, in all the wars then and now,  so that we, the survivors, can benefit from the way of life we have today.

This year is even more poignant given the anniversary of WW1.. and one of the tributes I find so moving and amazing is the picture of the poppies at the Tower of London.

So, this is the image I wish to use, to say, again

THANK YOU

to our brave people
 -  and to my father, Frank,  - whom I never knew
for coming over from Canada and giving his life!
