So we were off to the Cotswolds for a few days today.. left early and in the dark... the further we drove the wetter it became.
Stopped en route fro some brekkie - the rain continued.
However, too early to check in to where we are staying so had a walk around Bourton-on-the-Water. It was still raining but the ducks seemed to be enjoying the weather :D
Saw Goldcrests and Long-tailed tits around this spot.. nice... also saw a Grey Wagtail & a Pied Wagtail..
Seen in a shop window..
Autumn colours were evident and lovely..
This mini is outside the Motor Museum
as is this old pump!!
The church wasn't open... so just a pic of the outside.
From there off to Morton in the Marsh ( And there is where I discovered I had permanently lost my mobile phone!! hey ho - I was going to replace it anyway but....)... so as therapy... we stopped for a cuppa and a scone in one of the many tea rooms.
Scone was good but not as nice as most of the NT scones.
So off to collect key from where we are stoaying.. then..Where to next? Off to Charlecote Park and Gardens
Quite a few Fallow deer about in the park and, as the rut was more-or-less finished, they were all very quiet today.
and into the Gardens. The House, like many other National Trust houses, was closed at this time of the year.
On the way again, and this time a stop at a rather good wine shop we'd seen earlier where a purchase or two was made.
We returned to Moreton in the Marsh - Pete had left his cap there!.. but this was recovered.
By this time it was mid afternoon so off to another tea room for a cuppa and another scone. I bit better one this time.
A good first day which ended with blue skies and sunshine.... Lovely :D
