Popped in to Rye Meads the other morning. It was a very grey day!..consequently, record shots only!!
Not a great deal about other than the usual. Didn't see anything of the Bittern.
A very obliging Robin outside the Draper hide.
Lots of Teal and Gadwalls about
And in one of the boxes sat a female kestrel. Above her was a very persistent magpie who kept moving about on the roof of the box. The female followed his every move.
After a while it disappeared but..
only to come back again.. The kestrel then flew out of the box and chased it off. The kestrel then left herself. Hope she comes back.. they do breed in the boxes most years!
A pied wagtail was finding things to eat and having a preen.
A male Teal also like the same spot.
And elsewhere a couple of Little Grebes were fishing and eating

Colour aside, little grebes are about the closest thing to a bath-time rubber duck on the water!
