Madrid Day 3 - Parque del Retiro

We left the hotel... and discovered blue sky and, and, and.... sunshine!!  and it lasted for a while

Today off to the Parque del Retiro -

The Parqu del Retiro is a beautiful park in the Jeronimo area of Madrid.  The Palace of Philipe IV once stood on the site.

House Sparrows everywhere .. lovely :)

Dozens of Terrapins..

A Waterfall...

which you could walk through

We sat and had lunch in the open air... but then it started to rain, so quickly moved to a table under an umbrella.. didn't come to much thankfully..

and walking back.. an obliging Iberian Green Woodpecker posed for us ...
