My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Madrid Day 6 - A Bee-eater and some Art

WE started the day by revisiting the Botanic Gardens... I hadn't felt that well during the night and didn't feel like going far.. so we decided to stay local.. thanks Pete :)

  Marsh frogs being very noisy..

otherwise known as the Judas Tree

We'd just seen a Great Spotted Woodpecker fly over when. what on earth is that?  Pete got the bins on the bird and whey hey!!  A Bee-Eater... which was then joined by two more... a total of three and a lifer... there was some benefit in being up during the night after all!!4

I only had a compact camera with me so record shots only.... but great to get them :)

We also saw a Peregrine fly over .. :)

We were going to the Prado but queues were horrendous so off to the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza instead.. it had some amazing paintings from the 13th to 20th century
