We caught the bus into St Peter Port in reasonable sunshine , to get the boat over to the small island of Herm. This was our boat.. a catamaran..
We were early so a few pics while we waited to board the boat....
Looking back at the mainland as we left the harbour
Castle Cornet in the distance..
We passed the Queen Elizabeth on the way out of the harbour..
Landed and started our walk around the island.. Herm has no traffic and despite the number of people getting off the boat, we soon lost them. The peace and quiet of this island is wonderful
These tiny roses where everywhere - a carpet of them..
I think this is a Small Blue
Alliums growing wild everywhere it seemed..
Honeysuckle
We stopped for a cuppa before catching the return boat
A truly great day and lovely walking.. managed to see, very briefly, a humming bird hawk moth, longer view of a painted lady and about 15 puffins on on the sea... the latter being rather far away but nonetheless good to see them

Hi Tricia
The "Small Blue" butterfly is a Common Blue butterfly.
Small blues are tiny. You would get two on that snail shell.
I'm off to Bulgaria next week, chasing butterflies, would you believe.
Cheers
Maurice
Many thanks Maurice.. and have a great and productive time butterfly spotting in Bulgaria.. hope you get some pics as well :)
