Today I headed off to Westonbirt Arboretum which is run and maintained by the Forestery Commission.. and was in the company of someone special...
After a welcome coffee.... we headed off
It was the most amazing place... I've never seen so many varieties of trees in one place and some of them were .... HUGE!!! About 15,000 specimens in the Arboretum
We started off with a walk through the Treetop Walkway.. I've never been mid way up these magnificent trees before.. it was breathtaking.
This circular viewing point is supported only by the framework housing the steps onto the view platform.. and it moves.. what an experience though!!
The view down... note the people down below!!
Charcoal burner
signs of Autumn.. just starting
Grabbed record shot!!
Lunch!!
This is Westonbirt House which is now a girl's school.. It has limited public open days.. I would love to see it closer and inside!
A wonderful day... in awe of the magnficenet trees.. and with excellent company.. thank you Carl xx
