Bitter cold wind down by the sea.. and grey skies. Great to have a brisk walk along the sea front though.
Call me a wimp, but there's no way I'd be swimming at this time of the year like these brave souls!
The old pier... always fascinatues me..
Just general bits that caught my attention today. One advantage on a day such as this, there's not many people about so some views are better!
This may be graffiti but I think it's great.. and such cheery colours on a grey day!
Such a shame this has been spoiled!
Purely for colour and fun!
Fascinating building
After a wander round the outskirts of town, walking back for lunch..
Sculpture on the beach
Pillars from the old pier
and more, in decorative formation
I don't know how some parts of the pier are still standing.. but hope it stands for as long as possible!
and lunch at a much favoured cafe.. The Birdcage Bandstand.
This building known as the Birdcage Bandstand, is a Grade II listed building of architectural and historical importance. It's on Brighton seafront and was designed by Phillip Lockwood.. it was completed in 1884. It's now a cafe. Food is good as is the service. Even better in the summer when you can sit outside!
Even this gull looked a bit downhearted in the icy wind!
Vesta Tilley (stage name) was quite a character it seems!
Good to get out for a good walk...

There always seemed to be nutters swimming and kite surfing in winter when I had a Brighton girlfriend
