Shoreham Fort and beach

Had a medical appointment today.. and as I was not too far from Shoreham Fort I decided a visit would be good.  Glorious sunshine and not that cold.. bring it on!!  Could do with more of this!!

Shoreham Life Boat station across the estuary

The car park has been thoroughly renovated and is now open.... and it has a slope down to the beach

the tide was out so I had a wander on the beach

scrambled over the rocks to get nearer to this very posey Cormorant!

Waves were crashing against the harbour wall even though the sea was quite calm!

and a preening crow on the beach.. one of many

Parts of the fort

A lone Turnstone as I walked out along the harbour wall..

Daytime moon..

I stopped briefly at Widewater Lagoon on the way back.. grabbed a shot of this Little Egret before it was spooked by an excitable dog!

and saw 7 Little Grebes (sorry Dave !  )

There were three Mute Swans.. of which 2 seemed to be relatively 'close'

Great time for an impromptu visit!

Didn't realise Shoreham had a fort to go with the torpedo boat houseboat on the Adur! It was cold and wild when I went there
