My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Woods Mills and Widewater Lagoon

After a trip to the Tech Support Dept in John Lewis (my gratitude for the great help I was given today) I headed off to Warnham LNR>

It was very quiet, with the exception of a lone Water Rail.  I spotted this down below the hide, pointed it out and everyone got a picture.. except me - it fled across us in front of the hide just as I focused on it...it's the way the cookie crumbles.

Met Dave and as he hadn't visited Woods Mills we headed off.  It was very quiet there as well..

But Dave spotted a Tree Creeper (in deepest shade) which was a good find.

The reserve is small..

Got lucky seeing a rabbit.. between us and the sun!

So from there, we went to explore birds at Widewater Lagoon.. which was also quiet.

About 7 Teal - having a preen

and an obliging Redshank which are often seen here.

There were two Redshank - this one we discovered having walked to the far end of the lagoon

On the way back, a swan out at sea.

Which then flew over us and landed back on the lagoon.

Tide was a long way out!

So it turned out to be a good day after all.. thanks for your company Dave and for doing the driving..
