A sprint around my local patch

I had a quick walk about Bushey Park today. No Deer movement; saW three fallow deer and that was about it for four legged friends.

The usual suspects of the birding world were about and these provided goodly subjects for trying out my new ErgoRest. I believe that I'm now able to hold the camera (and it's weighty lens) more steadily. The pictures that follow have not been edited at all with the exception of a bit of cropping as relevant. I'm reasonably pleased with the results.

Thanks Cheryl. S/he is rather a haughty bird though :)

It's amazing how the same spot can continually surprise with something new. That's what keeps us going back.

Great pictures, Tricia.

J.J. should be happy to turn into one of your cute Jackdaws.

Love the Black-headed Gull with the Jackdaw photo. Surprising that the BHG has not finished moulting yet! Or would it like to keep the cap against the winds?

Robert - It's not often that I see a new species here - but can be surprised by the antics of the regular visitors!

Yoke - I'm sure JJ will grow into a handsome prince!

Thanks, as usual, OC :)

Hi Tricia, what lens were you using?

Steve: it's a Canon EF 100-400 1:4 5-5.6 L lens. Most of my bird/animals pics are taken using this lens.
