Final Birthday out with Breakfast, Lunch, Tea and Cakes ... and....

Final part of my birthday in that I went up to Pete's  for the last part of the Easter weekend....

We had a snow flurry as we left to go out for the day and it was bitterly cold!! Spring.. I need convincing!!

Started with breakfast at McDonalds...!!

First stop was Flatford Mill... (there's an RSPB Wildlife Garden there..  that was open; on our last visit it wasn't)

We went for a wander along the river - in the icy wind!

Birds in the RSPB Garden - Blue and Great Tits, Chaffinches, Siskins, Goldfinches.  From the hide along the River.. 3 Little Grebes and a Kingfisher.. not that bad!

Then onto Melford Hall (via Waitrose to shop for dinner)... in search of lunch in the new Tea Room :D Tomato Soup and rolls.. very nice! And we had this in the Park Room...

After a tour of the house and gardens, we needed a cuppa to warm us up again.   So it was Lemon Cake and Victoria Sponge... very very nice!!

And Luxury Hot Chocolate.. which, regrettably was rather disappointing being a bit weak in the taste of chocolate.

a great way to finish a three day birthday... thanks Pete - it was a lovely day out

I hope your birthday was all you wished for and more. You see the most amazing places with all the old history and beautiful scenery. Lucky you.
