Popped in for a short visit to Warham yesterday - Siskins, Redpolls, Blackcaps about and Chiff Chaffs singing. Wonderful birdsong.....
A dunnock posed well...
I returned to Warnham today and met Wendy (her blog is here) and Susan... not quite so many birds but the Chiff Chaffs near the visitor centre were darting about all the time... at least 3 of them and a male and female Blackcap...
best I could do..
From the Tern Hide, a pair of Mute swans were about...
It's a lovely time as the new leaves are just showing in the trees without obscuring the birds too much...
A male Great Spotted Woodpecker was keen to eat from supply of fat.. while we were watching, we heard the call of a Green Woodie but it didn't visit us ..
A few Redpolls still about in their breeding finery
as were the Chaffinches!
A mallard felt entitled to accept the food on offer!
as did a male Reed Bunting
Mrs. Blackbird
and just before we decided to have some lunch, a male Pheasant put in an appearance.
Jacket potatoes too large to finish with a coffee. I left Wendy and Susan to further wanderings as I headed off to collect some holiday tickets ( D: )... ....
Great to meet you for the first time and thank you Susan and Wendy for your company...
