We were meeting some friends at 9.00 a.m. for breakfast so we parked up and then wandered down to the marshes.
The sun was just coming up and the sky was clear of any cloud. It was quite special to see the different colours as the sun rose and we stood watching hundreds of pink-footed goose in large skeins coming in - amazing just to stand and stare.
Saw a flock of about 20 Golden Plovers flew over.. looking really golden in the rising sun.
And from there back to Deepdale Cafe ... friends arrived, breakfast was ordered, eaten and thoroughly enjoyed.
and then to the Cafe... Trev and Corinna met for the first time
Corinna, Di and Keith
after a very filling breakfast, on to Titchwell Nature Reserve
Pete and Corinna
and just before leaving, a Brambling arrived on the feeder
(record shot only!!)
Di, Keith and Dawn had to travel back later, but Pete, Trev, Corinna, Cheryl and I all went to Briarfields for an excellent meal.
Scallops to start following by Gressingham Duck and a chocolate torte..... food to die for!!
An excellent first day......
and tomorrow......
