To Rye Meads in the rain.

Yesterday's weather wasn't good.... dull, grey and damp.  It would have been tempting to just curl up with a book and a glass of something nice.... but we headed off to Rye Meads.

The previous day 74 Snipe had been seen.. today we saw about 20... too far away for any pics.

But despite the damp stuff it was good to be out for a bit!

Two Little Egrets - quite active and flew off...

Dozens of Gadwalls

Cormorant and Swan were preening...

and the four Konik ponies have returned.  Seems they are the same ones that have recently been at Amwell Nature Reserve and have returned to Rye Meads..
