Winkworth Arboretum for a Boxing day walk..

I needed some exercise today to where better, with a steep hill to climb for the cardiovascular bit, than Winkworth Arboretum..

The morning was dull and grey skies but nonetheless lovely to just be walking without rain!!

Given our high temperatures for this time of the year... but still couldn't believe my eyes with all the daffodils in flower on 27 December!!!!... Pity they won't be there next Spring now... but so colourful on a dull day..

And Camellias flowering.. but that's not so unusual as there are early winter flowering varieties..

The two resident geese looking around..

and Mr Ponders thought it would be good if he could go for a swim but...

Love this seat..

Well - lunchtime and a wonderful fruit scone... excellent!!

Mr Ponders definitely gave it his seal of approval... crust outside, soft and fluffy inside, great quantity of fruit and excellent taste...

Nice to get out for a bit...

I'm wondering if the fabulous snowdrop displays at Kelham Hall church will be ruined for this year now.

I saw a few snowdrops at Anglesey Abbey recently and they have hundreds. Fingers crossed they don't flower until January/Feb as usual!!!
