Polesden Lacey .. is it Spring today?..

I met a friend today with the object of getting some excercise.. so we met at Polesden Lacey/  The sky was blue, the sun was shining and warm!! .. a bit on the cool windy side but..

as we stood here we were sheltered from the wind and could feel the warmth of the sun on our backs.. gloroius!!

on a remaining tree sump were fungi.. the top one looked like charred wood. fascinating!!

Catkins against a clear blue sky!!

Many sheep in a distant field...

WE stopped for lunch and the fruit scone was good!! we even sat outside

not the best of shots but crocuses.... taken from a considerable distance in the Rose Garden

Snowdrops..

and in the same garden, bees... which may have come from the hives within the gardens..

First time I've seen a bee in/on a snowdrop....

Daisies!! in February???

This tree was covered in love-related messages .. it was a lovely idea and looked so pretty.  Messages were of love... between partners, and relatives.. one very poignant one expressing the love the 'author' had for his/her father..

A wonderful day out in glorious weather....and thank you IHD for your company as usual...

wonder if that charred fungus is the one that can be used for starting fires
