My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Castle Acre Priory, Oxburgh Hall and St. Peter's at Merton

So our last day.  The previous night we'd had dinner at Briarfields... very nice!  We came back to the B&B - managed to get the lounge to ourselves so armed with a glass of wine, we sat and watched Dr. Who!

We awoke to the sound of Pheasants calling!!  Looked out the window.... it was raining but the four cows in the adjacent field didn't seem to mind.

After a hearty breakfast, we headed off for Castle Acre Priory.  This is now a ruin, but very beautiful it is... the sun even came out occasionally..

We'd intended to have lunch at the Tea Rooms again, but were a bit too early.  So we headed off to Oxburgh Hall and had lunch.. very nice Winter Vegetable soup with a piece of Carrot Cake to follow (one piece shared... very nice it was too)

After lunch a stroll around the grounds.  The light wasn't brilliant, but at least it didn't rain today.

Pete had arranged to visit a church on his list... this involved the Church Warden, Helen, being there to unlock and let us into the church.  A very helpful lady and thanks to Helen for all her invaluable information.

Whilst we were waiting, we found some new friends....

A great weekend despite the weather....
