Houghton Hall... and some birds

Off on Saturday upto Norfolk to see an exhibition of paintings at  Houghton Hall.  We were booked in for mid-morning, but Pete & I, not being ones to hang out. were off at crack of dawn and, stopped at Walkers cafe for breakfast, we arrived at Salhouse very early.  Our target birds for the day being snow buntings... and we did..

After our wander around the grounds, the rain started in earnest, so after a quick but expensive lunch (soup and a cuppa)  we headed off to the tearooms at Castle Acre... and excellent they were too.

This was a 'slice' of scone with whipped cream and a piece of Coffee & Walnut cake - excellent!!

Duly fortified, we had a wander around Castle Acre Church..

It was getting rather wet by now, so we headed off for our B&B... a good start to the weekend having seen lots.
