I had a commitment late morning which, given the wonderfully sunny weather, was a tad irritating.
I left early and had a wander around Pulborough.. the sun and light were glorious but nothing out of the ordinary in terms of birds.
One of the many Doves.. waiting for the visitor centre to open perhaps?
Out on the reserve
There were Fallow deer in many places... the stag on the right was badly injured and limping. According to another birder, it has been injured for some time... the centre has been alerted to this. It had a token 'fight' with the other stag on the other side of the fence.
A lot of the time, the deer were so well camouflaged in the bushes that I didn't see them till they bounded away!
Far in the distance, a Green Woodpecker entertained for a bit
Having then done the family bit, I headed off home via WWT Arundel. There were a few snipe around but all too far away for pictures - nothing out of the ordinary to follow...
And then home.. despite the sunshine the temperature was dropping.. so a cuppa on my return was very welcome!
