The day was.... glorious!! And a few birds about waiting to be photographed...
We were feeding the birds in the usual spot, when a Jay came to the party. He was there for a while and eventually, took some cheese from Pete's hand... wonderful :)
and having spent some wonderful time on a very sunny Sunday, we headed off for Wigmore Hall.
Today we were to hear The Atos Trio - this was the first time we'd heard them... they were excellent.
On the menu was:
Joseph Haydn, Piano Trio in D HXF:24 and
Antonin Dvorak - Piano Trio in E minor Op. 90 'Domky'
The pieces were entirely different... the Haydn being very jolly whereas the Dvorak was very dramatic... I thoroughly enjoyed both and the musicians were excellent... kindly coming back to play an encore which was another piece by Haydn.. final movement of the A major trio.... Two excellent composers with widely differing styles of composition!!
We ate lunch coming back on the tube and then headed off to the Gibberd Garden... but that's for another post....
