Popped into my local for a short time this afternoon... very quiet in terms of the birds.. The usual Grey Herons in numbers with young. A few Mallards and Tufties. A large number of gulls came in while I was there... just as though it was 'snowing' with the number that arrived!
Saw 3 terns.. there may have been another but not sure..
A couple of Mute Swans.. no young though this year.
A family of 'teenager' Mallards were dozing in the sun...
And delighted to see a pair of Great Crested Grebes nesting.. there were 7 ... but only saw these 2 today.
and a Dunnock was singing as I left..
