Shopping with some Great Crested Grebes...

I popped into Warnham today ... well I needed some shopping so a slight detour.....
The Warden advised me that there were two pairs of Great Crested Grebes with young; one pair with 2 chicks and the other with 1.

However, a third pair were busy starting a nest in the Water Lillies and were using the water lily leaves for bedding material.  I'm not sure the nest will be that successful but it was great to watch them.

Initially only 1 grebe was doing the work.. but finally the 2nd grebe contributed albeit not very much!!

One of the four Common Terns had a bath... (record shots only!!)

I wasn't there for long, but lovely to see the activity....
