We're off to Venice in a couple of days, so Pete's down ready for our trip to Gatwick. woo hoo
So it's the turn of Kent National Trust properties today after having left Essex, and some scone research before we fly off.
We started off at Chartwell... a lovely garden and home, once, to Winston Churchill - I do love this garden.
A few pics in the garden shop...
and then of the bird feeders, while we were waiting for the garden to be open..
Some of the autumn colours were stunning.....
Time for a cuppa and a fruit scone.. I must say this was one of the best NT scones I've had to date - at least 5 out of 5!! lovely..
And from there, and not very far away, we went off to Emmetts Garden.. My first visit there...
and it was then lunch time... but not feeling that hungy we tried the .... fruit scone... another really good one but 4.5 out of 5 this time.
A great day out and on the way home we visited Bolney Vineyard where a small purchase was made :) yum ..
excellent first day of the holidays :D....
