A Day on the Island of Sark

Up and out earlier to catch the bus to the Harbour... from there a 50 minute sail across to the island of Sark.

Fairly calm crossing and the sky got bluer as the day went on.  Sark is larger than Herm and has a population of about 600... It's beautiful and very quiet and full of bird song.

The only form of transport on the island is by tractor or by horse drawn vehicle..

For you Sharon

Amazingly a Waitrose... some of the locals are delighted :D

St Peters Church

ID needed please... Female Holly Blue ????

Green Hairstreak... a first for me :)

I believe this is a Wall.....

We'd had lunch at Hathaways Cafe.... Crab Cakes... and returned after a long walk for a cream tea.. which was lurvley :D

And so...  caught the ferry back to Guernsey and bus back to the hotel for our final, but delish, dinner and a bottle of Spanish vino.

Hi Tricia

Yes a female Holly Blue.
The moth is a Speckled Yellow, a common day flying moth.

Cheers

Maurice

Hi Caroline... hope you see this... my apologies for the late posting of your comment...some how it slipped through the net. Twas a wonderful holiday - the islands were amazing and, apart from the fog at the airport when we left, views great :)
