We started off by visiting the Little Chapel - which was fascinating - built by Brother Deodat
A family of chickens joined us after our visit..
And from there to Saumarez Park - wherein is the main National Trust property on the island - The Folk & Costume Museum
At one time, the tomatoes produced by Guernsey became one of the islands main trades.. but varieties from other countries gradually overtook demand and the production ceased..
and then a walk out in the Park...
Don't know what the flutter is but it was very pretty...
We then headed off for Cobo Bay and Vazon bay- after we had hadsome lunch when we then had a wander. The wind was fierce and it was rather cold but nonetheless the sun was glorious.
There's an old German fort....
Inside this bunker was fascinating... and incredibly secure - when doors were closed you were completely encapsulated.... I wouldn't have liked to have stayed there :(
And we'd been seeing rock pipits most of the afternoon and finally one perched sufficiently long enough for a reasonable picture
And tomorrow? Promises to be less windy so hopefully off to Herm - a much smaller island!!
