My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

A visit to Standen, birds & reunion of old friends at Warnham..

I went to Standen... the sky was leaden and grey!!  I was advised on entry that various parts of the garden were, understandably, closed.. as a result of being water logged...

Many robins singing...

and another one nearby..

Mr. Ponders fancied himself as a volunteer in the garden..

an rivulet of water...

The ferns have been given brollys to protect the crowns from getting water-logged... also problematic if then frozen..

Mr Ponders gazing towards the distant lake..

He rather like it here..

and, finally, the clouds started to clear a bit..

the weather vane on the top of the house (as in the picture above)..

and there was blue in the sky

The garden renovations nearing completion.. the pond is filling up...

Well... a duck can sit and hope lunch will be served.. :)

Great Tit singing in a tree above my head..

I was going to go round the house but getting peckish... and the sun was still shining.  I headed off for a 'scunch' at Nymas which I passed on my way back..

Mr Ponders found it came up to the usual standard :D

and went home via Warnham.t

When I walked into the Woodpecker hide, I came across Mike Wheat .. we often coincide there, and also John Few, first time meeting (a friend from Facebook), Rick from the old days when we met at WWT Barnes, and Mick also from Barnes.  Great to catch up after all this time.

and the home  .. a far better day than I expected...

The second singing robin is really giving the performance a lot of feeling!
