Fluttering at Wisley RHS with some birds....

I was out with a friend today and as the Butterflies were making the annual visit to Wisley, we met there.

Some flutter related sculptures around the garden.. which were really colourful on a very dull start to the day.

Then into the Glasshouse.. it took a while for the lens to clear... my glasses and les steamed up the minute we entered!!

Not quite as many this year, but it was dull and flutters like sunlight to be more active.

We had a coffee... and I noticed these flutter cupcakes and, no, I didn't succumb!!

Off out now for a wander around the gardens..
another sculpture - sheet metal this time..

and blue flutters..

We came accross this wooden sculpture of sparring hares not far from the orchards..

Then a walk through the Rhododendron and Camellias ..

Hellebores..

One of many Redwings we saw today.. also saw some Fieldfare flying over..

On the courtesy vehicle..

Some caterpillars..

Off to the Pinetum ...

Delighted to spot this Goldcrest... for once close enough for a record shot!!

A sculpture in the Pinetum..

One of two or three remains of snowmen... must have had much more snow here than I had...

And walking back along the river, a Treecreeper.. woo hoo.. a couple more to add to the year list!

The river is very swollen..

A stop for lunch... soup for my friend and a sandwich for me... then off for another stroll...

We had a hazy sun after lunch which was lovely to see... an excellent morning... thank you my friend :)
