So we left Lucca this morning and took train to Florence where we changed trains to Bologna for the next 4 days stay. I just love Florence - pity we didn't have time to stop for a short visit. Our journey wasn't the train line recommended but we chose to have more time between trains to save rushing!!
We'd visited Bologna on a day trip before when it was raining hard... today the sun shone and it looked a great deal better. Bologna is a good starting point for various other towns and we intend to visit other areas ....
Got to the hotel, dumped our cases and headed out for some lunch and a wander...
A street entertainer was blowing bubbles.. some were very large and was lucky to grab this pic as one floated by..
Bologna is said to be the food capital of Italy... the food shops are wonderful..
