We started off in the Langdales areas trying to find a Quarry. After literally going 'off road' as the road petered out into a dirt track and despite alternative routes we decided another day would be better
So we headed off for Chapel Style for a walk along the river; this area having lovely memories for my daughter when her ,as a toddler, had his first introduction to being in water!
We parked and walked down to Elterwater.
While walking there and back we saw Rock Pipit, Nuthatch and Tree Creeper.
The sky got very black!!
We had a tasty lunch at Wainrights Inn, ... and while we were there we had a shower of rain!! According to the guy who served us, it was the first for 2 months!
we then we drove to Townend House, a very quirky but fascinating house in the Troutbeck Valley which was lived in by the Brownes. Beatrix Potter described Troutbeck Valley area as her favourite
A cookery demonstration was in progress..
Then back to the hotel..a lovely day
