We left at 3.30 a.m. to go to the airport for our flight to Naples; to spend the next few days in Sorrento. When we left the forecast wasn't that good with rain expected on all days.
Flight was on time and we arrived in Naples to catch the bus to Sorrento then walked to our hotel.
The garden restaurant for lunch time dining!
The views from the balcony
and from the hotel generally
Part of the hotel garden
and the swimming pool
We then headed off for a walk around the town. The sun was shining and it was warm!! Wonderful. I'd been to Sorrento once before many years ago. I wondered whether much had changed
We discovered a Hummingbird Hawk Moth; we didn't know it then but they were to be seen many times.
And a Geranium Bronze butterfly
Around the town..
I just love Italian food shops... this one had many chillies hanging up... they looked good and am sure they were to taste good too!!
This was the way we were to walk down to the port. Rather a large number of stairs.
A tourist 'around the town tour' bus.... one way to come back up the very steep climb back up to the main square - the Piazza TorquatoTasso
From the port - views back to the headland..
and a beautiful wooden boat below our hotel
Mr Ponders was a happy duck... he'd found the journey rather boring and was glad to be out!!
Cats are to be found everywhere - this was one of a few that had food provided for them beside the rocks on the 'beach'..
Glad to have stretched our legs, we headed back to the hotel to unpack .... and later on to have dinner in the hotel.
