My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Winkworth Arboretum.. for a walk..

Needed some exercise and the forecast for the weekend... let's just say.. could be much better.  And even for those who don't work, there's still something about a weekend when you really want good weather!! and, especially for those who have to work during the week,it's really necessary !! .......

Just did the short walk today to get the blood circulating.  Birds dashing about, heard Nuthatch, and saw Blue & Great Tits, also saw a Goldcrest and, for the first time for me, heard then saw a Kingfisher in the distance flash by along the lake!.

Mr Ponders was glad to be out.... been a while..

Lots of snowdrops.. lovely to see

and camelias..

Primulas..

All the green in this picture, are the Bluebell leaves.. it's going to be amazing again when they're in flower..

Carpets of bluebells..... waiting to flower

In the far distance, a male Pheasant

This cat passed me... but wouldn't stop and pose..

Down to the lake.. lots of Mallards and Tufties.. and also at least two Little Grebes... obviously a pair (no pics - too far away for the camera gear I had with me)

The resident white Geese

Walk over, time for lunch... and I came across a feline friend..

and finally, a fantastic fruit scone.. which was warm from the oven and delicious.. the scones at Winkworth are some of the best ever..

Good walk and then home, before doing some essential food shopping!!
