Nymans Woods for a wander

I woke early this a.m. and immediately looked at the BBC News.. to learn, much to my dismay, that the USA Presidency election was not what I wanted to hear.. Trump in the lead..and the he won the election sob!!

The weather was wet dull and grey but I headed off to Nymans to meet a friend.  We decided to do the Woodland Walk... which had lots of colour..

Lots of foam and gushing water after the rain..

Don't know what fungi this is... it was tiny so assume the beginning of growth?

The Woodpecker Sculpture

and the two Owl sculpture

and as we got back to the visitor centre and cafe, the sun filtered through

A bowl of Butternut Squash and Red Pepper Soup and then a fruit scone.. not quite up to the usual standard of Nyman's today but nonetheless, a tasty one.

A short walk around some of the garden before heading home..

Magnolia in bud?...

and a seed head from the Magnolia..

Good to be out in the fresh air.. and we walked some distance.. just hoping I walked off some weight!!

Hi Tricia

The fungi looks like Candle-snuff fungi.

Cheers
