My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

A day of two parts - Morning visit to Sizergh Castle

Torrential rain, lightening and thunder... that's what we woke to this morning.  It had been forecast so no surprise really.

As it eased we went out to the car - we were off to Sizergh Castle this morning.  As we drove (my turn to drive today) the sky got blacker and blacker;  the rain came down so hard had to have the wipers on double speed... not looking good for a wander around gardens!!

However... as we arrived having donned water proof jacket, the rain stopped and as we made our way through the visitor centre the skies cleared from black to blue, the sun came out and it was warm again!!

This is one of the oldest barns of its type...  has a wooden floor and an open area underneath

So off around the gardens.... which are beautiful..

Water so still that reflections were great ..

An excellent scone for lunch before going into the house

and a wooden snail.

From there we went to Levans Hall.. but that's a post for tomorrow..
