Fell Foot and Brantwood

Set off this morning not feeling too great... so Pete nobly and kindly volunteered to drive... it should have been me today...

And off to Fell Foot.... beautifully scenic views and a lovely walk around Windermere..

At this point we think we heard then saw a Grasshopper Warbler.. but too far away to be sure..

We'd seen in the distance, sitting on a rock a female Gooseander  then later on 5 females flew in ...  lovely!!

and then off to Brantwood... home of John Ruskin

Hawkshead Courthouse.. we discovered on the way back.. but we had to go elsewhere for the key.. it's an NT property..
