My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Ightham Mote and a posing Cormorant at Buchan Country Park

Today I made a 2nd attempt to get to Ightham Mote - a moated manor house built around 1320.

It's a very relaxing place to be and the sun shone nearly all the time I was there!!  I was last there in July  2012

A scone for lunch..

and as the sun was shining and I was passing Buchan Country Park, I had stroll around the lake..

to discover a very posy Cormorant who was sitting on a branch a couple of metres away from the water's edge..

Lovely to be out in the sunshine!!

Ideal conditions for reflections Simon.. hard to believe a few days before the house was flooded due to a flash flood in the area.. 4 downstairs rooms were still drying out and closed to the public..
