So .. headed off for Hever Castle the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. I knew there was a Jousting event on this weekend so I got there very early - quite a few people before me.
I'd visited Hever Castle once before with my daughter and grandson.. many years ago, and on that occasion we went as we wanted to see the jousting :) ..
Went for a walk whilst I waited for the gates to open and then headed off for a walk around the gardens.
My first view as I walked down the hill from the entrance..
Was getting peckish so stopped for a cuppa and a fruit scone - tasted v good but would have preferred it to be a little moister.. it had also started to rain
I walked back to the house to visit it but the queue to get in was so long, I decided to forego the visit. I will go back later in the year.. would like to see the gardens in another season.
Mr Ponders and Fido decided to shelter from the rain for a bit..
A final view as I headed back to the car... very pleasant morning out - I will return.

Amazing gardens Tricia. A lot of work must go into the upkeep.
