My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

RHS Wisley Gardens - Colour, Roses and a Red Kite

I met a very good friend today at Wisley Gardens.   Not too many people as the Hampton Court Flower Show is now on... so good to park easily etc. etc.

The gardens are looking amazing at the moment with colour everywhere... and the planting of this area of the garden was sooo different and one of the best I've seen..

and here we have Mr. Tim Peake.. recently returned from the Moon .. :)

Lovely to be accompanied by a blackbird singing its heart out..

the trial beds..

and overhead.. very high up.. a Red Kite.. great to see  (record shot only)....

The formal planting is excellent but what won my heart was all the wild flower planting in various part of the garden...

in this area, many many sunflowers have been planted and will flower later.. I shall be back when they're i flower.. they're arranged as a Roman-style amphitheatre...  but in the meantime the wildflowers and, in particular the poppies and cornflowers... are excellent :)

The Rose Garden is full of scent.. amazing roses everywhere..

Never quite sure about this type of colour..

A Red Red Rose... my favourite..

A lovely day out and, for some part, in very warm sunshine....

Holy cats! I'd love to see the plant list for that moon garden.
