St Olafs and Wordsworth House

Set off this morning with more overcast skies than yesterday.. and we were off to St Olafs Church.

Along the lanes we found Herdy sheep (Herdwick to give the full name) .. they quite happy at the roadside despite the cars... which were few and far between

Pity the tops of the hills were shrouded in low cloud..

Spectacular views along the way and finally, St Olafs Church

and then on to Whitehaven for ....
St James Church,

and our final stop of the day was Wordsworth House, which in the 1770s was William Wordsworth's home ..

by now we were hungry and thirsty so first stop the cafe for lunch ..

and the scone was very nice... I had jam today.... woo hoo... a treat ..

and here we have Mr Pickles
