Back in the UK... an outing to Audley End

Well, day after arriving back in the UK, went for a stroll around Audley End.  Grey skies and not that warm either - shame really.

However, the ducklings entertained (I think this was the family we saw before going on hols but reduced to 5 now)

A runner duck has appeared and joined the Mallards.  Not seen one at Audley before

A lone youngster on the main part of the lake... no doubt Mum and Dad weren't that far away

The wisteria looked lovely and scented too...

Hard work tilling the soil...

Another first for Audley (for us anyway) and spotted by Pete... Red Legged Partridge

And another birdy find... Grey Wagtail - there were 2 of them!

We'd noticed that several of the tulips had been dug up... according to one of the gardeners it's not only squirrels who like flower bulbs... the pheasants dig them up too...

Scented lilac in bloom - lovely

By now we were getting cold - so called it a day.  Some wonderful colour nonetheless despite the grey of the sky
