Lago Trasimeno... a wonderful last full day

We'd virtually promised ourselves a trip to Lake Trasimeno before we had even left home.  Given that Saturday was our last full day and sunshine was promised... we caught the bus to the train station and hopped aboard for Passignano sul Trasimeno

It seemed that everywhere we looked there were Great Crested Grebes... this one as we waited for the ferry to go out to the island

Little Egrets we saw quite often... a record shot only of two of them flying over..

A stop to pick up more passengers at another town before heading off to....

After landing a grabbing a bottle of drink  we headed off for a walk around the island...

The sun was still hot and shining on our return from the island to the town - just lovely to sit and watch the world and birds go by.

We stopped for an ice cream at the lakeside before walking back to the station.

Back to the hotel and then out again for the evening and a meal... street entertainers..

We ate again at the Restaurant Ferrari and it was warm enough to eat alfresco...

we had a wander as the evening light descended..

back down through the escalators..

and an ice cream was very welcome...

well..... what a day... so relaxing, so interesting... lovely to see the Wall Lizards, Grebes, Little Egrets and the occasional Heron flying over and to have the ferry ride out to the island... probably my favourite day of the holiday.... sigh...
