Yesterday was glorious - today... it rained... was going to Winkworth Arboretum trying to find bluebells but given the weather went to Nymans instead. Found a few but not many out yet!
As I started out around the gardens, so did the rain... went back for my brolly to protect the cameras.. but as it got heavier I decided to head for the cafe for a coffee. It stopped for a bit and then... well.... ...
Lots of spring colour around albeit muted by the conditions.
Lots of Magnolias in bloom..
and Camelias
and Rhododendrons...
Still many daffodils in flower.. but still no bluebells yet...
A distant Song Thrush landed briefly before flying off again...
I crossed the road from the main gardens into the Wild Garden...
at last some bluebells, but not many of them more than buds yet... in a coupled of weeks they should be fully flowering en masse ...
By now it was raining hard so I took shelter for a few minutes but...
I heard the alarm calls of several birds and on coming round the corner... found the cause... a rather damp cat!
Finally had to call it a day.... think the weather knows it's a bank holiday weekend...

Sorry if rain stopped play, but loved the way you played out the cat visiting :) Immense suspense.
Lovely photos Tricia - I love number 34 with the daffodils and hellebores.
What a shame about the rain. We've had some sunshine here especially this afternoon but heavy showers a.m.
Looks a beautiful garden to visit though.
Wendy - thanks... I think he was a 'birder' cat!!
Caroline.. thanks. it's good local garden to visit when I don't want to chance going to far.. and lovely in its own right at any time of the year.
