Popped over to Arundel today to see what was about. Warblers everywhere, Reed, Sedge and Cettis.. lovely stuff. In the Reeds just as you get to the visitor centre, was a Reed Warbler competing with song to win territory with a Sedge Warbler... Lots of youngsters about....
The day was (I can't believe I'm saying this) hot!! Great stuff. And it's a Bank Holiday weekend...
Trying to find some bluebells out and about today... but they're much later coming out this year and not many about as yet!! Perhaps in a week or so...
A few pics..
The 'entry' Reed Warbler... Mr. Sedge was ducking and diving and wouldn't pose!
This poor female Mallard spent most of the time under the water...
A more mature Mallard Duckling - one of three
A new born.. dashing across the path to the water!
Not the prettiest when young.. more handsome when they become adults :D
I'd heard there were 2 Nene Goslings but only one in evidence today
Another Reed Warbler singing in the sunshine!
Correction: Thanks to Phil's comment I now believe these to be Sedge rather than Reed Warbler
and to end... a rather large Carp (I think?) in the reed beds on the way out from the visitor centre.
and tomorrow is another day... let's hope the sun holds on for a bit...

I love the Reed Warbler photos. Yet to get my first one this year. Glad you had a great day. Lets hope this weather continues.
Hi Tricia, just catching up with your movements again. I don't know how you find the time to do so much. All credit to you.
With the strong supercilium on those last two 'reed warbler' photos, I think you found the sedge warbler after all!!
Best wishes,
Phil. x
Thanks Wendy. Long may it last!!
Phil - good to see you here again. I think you may well be right.. there were both Sedge and Reed singing in the same area... additionally, the back looks much darker brown than the Reed would normally sport.
