The weather was still a bit on the damp side, so we stayed in Florence for the day.
Going over the Ponte Vecchio, the 'love' padlocks were being removed from the railings of this monument.
And the Duomo again... it's such an amazing building and I find I have, almost, too many pictures of it. But it just draws the eye.
These doors are amazing... but can't get the angle to take a pic of the whole door..
A visit to the Baptistry..
And in to the Duomo
and, for the first time we visited the excavations below..... fascinating!! and so much of it...
Santissia Annunziata - amazing church which we'd visited on our previous hols in Florence. There had been a mass taking place when we attempted to visit the other day, but today our timing was better!!
Walking back we came across the wall covered in bank notes.... old lire I think!!...
And a final stroll through the smells and delights of the food market.
and final (for this visit) lunch at Ciro & Sons..
Two of the four brothers who, together with their parents, ARE the restaurant.
A wander along the river with some blue sky this time..
A, I presume, model posing for the cameras..
and up the hill again to the Piazzale Michelangelo
some filming was taking place.. glad I haven't got to carry something that size...
and down in the City again, where Messrs. Quacks & Ponders have their final gaze over the River Arno.. - for this time that is!!

Great photo of you with the 2 brother! And the river shot right after it is stunning. The bank notes look like US $1 bills. What a trip!
