Walking the dog this morning along The Ledges, I was lucky enough to see a Great-Spotted Woodpecker feeding two (there may have been more) young in their nest. It was high up in the tree and around the far side - no prospects of getting a picture. But first time I've seen a GSW nest - so that was good.
On the way back, I stopped at the pond for a quick update of the West End Cygnets.
Having started with 5, then four on the following day, today, sadly, there were only three. I do hope this reduction in numbers doesn't continue!
They are changing so quickly.
Then a day spent gardening..... until it starting raining of course!
